A Year in Review: Allison’s 2017

With just a few more hours of 2017, I thought it would be a great idea to review 2017 as it was such an important year in Allison’s career.

I also want to thank all of our visitors for keeping this website alive and for following us on our social media. I cannot wait for 2018, especially as we will see new projects of Allison and a great award season.

To start, the cast of Girls started the promotion of the series final season. They appeared on the cover of Glamour and they also appeared on a special pictorial for Vogue. Then the whole cast of Girls appeared on the cover of ‘The Hollywood Reporter’ which by the way it contains one my favorite photos of Allison. On February 2, Allison attended the last premiere of Girls where she wore an amazing outfit by Gabriela Hearts. The cast also appeared on the famous show ‘Inside the Actors Studio’.

February aired the first episode of the series finale ‘All I Ever Wanted’ but it also marked the start of Allison’s first film press tour. ‘Get Out’ was released on February 24. The film received very positive reviews and even achieved a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes (Right now it’s 99% because of one ‘critic’) which is a great achievement for a Thriller film. In this month, Allison also debuted her new blonde hair and she did in style as she graced the March cover of Allure magazine.

For the press tour of ‘Get Out’, Allison appeared on some talk shows like Watch What Happens Live, Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the Late Late Show with James Corden and Late Night with Seth Meyers. She also featured in two more magazine covers like Backstage, Stylist, L’Officiel Germany and Rhapsody.

On April 16, the last episode of Girls, ‘Latched’ aired on HBO. It was an emotional day for Allison as she said goodbye to Marnie Michaels after playing her for six years. In May, Allison attended the famous ‘Met Gala‘ where she wore a gown by her friend and one of her favorite designers Diane von Furstenberg. On May 7, Allison attended the MTV Movie & Television Awards where she was nominated for Best Villan, she wore Galia Lahav.

After that, we didn’t see much of Allison during June, but she came back on Instagram for the annual fundraising she hosts on her Instagram for Horizons. This time, she even appeared on The Today Show and The View. After the ’10 Days of Giving Allison and her amazing fans fundraised $112,288.00.

The rest of the summer we didn’t get many updates on Allison but in August we did get the exciting news that Allison had booked her first project outside of Girls.  She will play Marianne in the first episode of the mini-series Patrick Melrose, starring Benedict Cumberbatch.

In October, Allison did a lot of press because ‘Get Out’ began its campaign for the award season and because of this she attended the SAF-AFTRA Foundation Conversation and the Hamptons Film Festival. In this month it was also announced a new film starring Allison named ‘The Perfection’ a thriller directed by Girls’ director Richard Shepard that tells the story of two cello prodigies. Yes, Allison is learning how to play the cello and the cast recently announced that Logan Browning will start next to Allison.

During November, Allison appeared on the Late Night with Seth Meyers and The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon as part of the awards season promo for Get Out. She also attended more events that honored ‘Get Out’.

The last month of the year was amazing because Get Out received a bunch of awards nominations including the Independent Spirit Awards, Critics’ Choice Awards, Satellite Awards, Golden Globes and the Screen Actors Guild Awards which included a nomination for Allison as part of the Best Ensemble. In December, Allison and Daniel Kaluuya attended the British Independent Film Awards where they accepted the award for Best International Film. On December 19, Allison announced she is a brunette again!!

This concludes the review of 2017, an exciting year that leaves me eager to see what 2018 has in store for Allison.
